Smoking is critical to your heart problems.

        I admit that smoking is one way of releasing stress which makes your heart worse. For this reason, people might think quitting smoking is more worse than smoking. But recent research shows that the rate of heart attack have dropped in state which banned smoking in public space. If stress works more than smoking, it wouldn't decrease. Hence now we should notice that smoking is more critical to your heart problems than getting stess, so if you want to keep your heart healthy, just quit it!

Can We Decrease Chances To Get Heart Attack By Quitting Smoking?

       

        Smoking has been a big issue for decades. The main idea is that smokers can decrease the rate of heart attack by quitting smoking, and by smoking, smokers harm other innocent people by second hand smoking, which is much worse than smoking directly. I agree to banning smoking in public space, as it's kind of violence to harm other people.

        But I have some different idea about heart disease caused by smoking. Of course it is definitely true that smoking is bad for smoker's health. However, smoking is not the only reason for heart disease. One of the biggest reason for heart disease is to get stressed. Stress is critical to your heart health, and for smokers, smoking is one of the easiest and cheapest way to release their stress. By smoking, they might decrease chances to get heart attack by releasing stress.

        On the other hand, smokers who want to quit smoking get huge stress. Non-smokers can't imagine how huge the stress is, because smoking is not a habit but kind of addiction. They can't relax their stress, because they can't smoking, and even more, they get stress more to struggle with quitting smoking. So non-smokers never guess the amount of stress of smokers who want to quit. They get stressed highly, which means increased chances of heart attack.

        Of course, it would be the best way for your heart health to find other ways to release stress instead of smoking. But I'm not sure that we can decrease chance to get heart disease only by quitting smoking.

Blog Post #9 Assigment - News Story Summary and Response

        Japanese companies are adopting English as their official language. Long time ago, they didn't need to, because their quality of goods worked everywhere over the barrier of language. But now, most of japanese GDP is service industry, and it need fluency of English. That's why they need to change their official language. And this idea cover not only employees of companies but also student in schools. But it doesn't look easy for them to make it. The focus of studying English is getting a good score in test, and there is a gap between getting a high score in English test and actual ability of using English.

        I think Koreans are in same situation with Japanese. We are well aware of importance of getting good English skills, and spending lots of money and time to studying English. In my case, I've studied more than ten years, since I entered middle school. But I can say just few words with foreigners in English. I think we should change our mind to leaning English. It's not a study of getting knowledge of something mysterious but getting a skill to communicate with foreigners. The main concern is not how you speak English correctly but how you well transfer your idea. So let's don't get stressed for getting a good score in English test. Instead, let's regard it as a tool or a skill for communicate each other like cooking, driving, etc.

Blog Post #8 Assignment - Movie/Book Review

Good Will Hunting (1997)

 

        Good Will Hunting is a movie about a boy whose name is Will Hunting. He is poor and uneducated as other laborers are, like his friend. But he is so clever so that he can solve very difficult math problems that any student in MIT can't solve. A professor of MIT get aware of Will's talent and introduce his friend to Will as a councilor. Will is struggling to find real value of life, and his friend and councilor give him a hand. At the same time, Will seems to find his partner for life, but it doesn't look easy for him to make it real.

        What is your criteria when you evaluate a film? Dramatic plot? Fantastic scene in the movie? Or acting ability of characters? In my case, there are some kind of movie that make me feel good with no reason. One of that kind of movie is Good Will Hunting. This movie has simple plot and might be not touching to you. But I love general atmosphere throughout this film. I saw this movie when I was in high school. It looks like movie about a genius at first, and actually some brilliant accidents he make in early part of the movie attracts my attention. But a smart boy isn't main theme of this film. This is a film about a boy who has scar in his mind and overcome it. I really love this film so I've seen this movie more than five times. Two thumbs up for this movie!

WE HAVE TO WRITE MUCH MORE.

 Mr. Hunter said plenty of writing will make us good writer.  So I have to write a lot. But he also said if we write a lot, it would be burden to him. I really want to get good writing skill but if I write a lot, Mr. Hunter would have hard time to evaluate it. So now, I have to call it a day. Cause I don't want to be selfish. It's never because I don't want to write much. See you next week. LOL

Blog Post #6 Assignment - When I felt fear.

A dense fog was surrounding us, when we were on a boat crossing river. We were heading to island in big river for summer vacation. But I felt weird rather than pleased. Unconsciously I might know what would happen to me before long. People had happy time in the uninhabited island. I was happy too, but the happiness felt like not mine. It felt like there’s something bad outside of happy mood. As sun rose up, fog got cleared and the strong sunshine made me hard to see around me clear. And I still felt doom and silence in the sunshine. My body belonged to happy mood but my soul was out there. Frequently, other’s happy noise faded out from my ears.

Finally, the night came to us. We’ve unpacked in old cabin and it looked like fell down soon. I thought I should pass out this night quickly. A strange thing was that I fell in sleep in a second. But I’m not the kind of person who fell sleep easily in unusual place. That night, I fell in sleep more deeper than any other night.

I opened my eyes. I don’t know why I woke up but my mind was more clear than when I wake up in a day. My eyes got used to darkness but still I couldn’t see any artificial light. It’s cause, of course, a city was a few kilometers far across the river.

I shouldn’t have done it, but I could stop it. Yes, I turned to back side of me and he was there, the angel of death! He was typical example of the angel of death in Korea, with black suit and black hat. The most astonishing moment was when I saw under the angel. He was above the floor without foot! Can you believe it? He had no foot and was floating from the ground! I closed my eyes and I wished it was not real. I tried to sleep again but my mind was getting clear and clear, and I felt chilly in the middle of summer. I opened my eyes again and he was still there. I couldn’t see his eyes because of the shade of his hat but I could feel his looking down to me strongly. He was still floating from the floor. I couldn’t stand anymore and I fainted away.

Strong sunray from the sun woke me up in the morning. I opened my eyes and I could memorize last night lively. So I checked the place where the angel of death floating. I found a suit of Han-bok was hanged with a hat.

 

Blog Post #5 Assignment

One day, when I was 6 or 7 years old, I was in some secret place with my friend. In the place, there was nothing but lots of bushes. Maybe the site was waiting for being constructed some building on it. My friend and I were there cause it feels like some secret place blocked with plates. So nobody could see what we were doing there.

We caught some bugs from the bushes. Our plan was cooking the bugs, pretending cooking program in TV. We made little fire on bush and set grill over the fire. Everything was good. But suddenly something happened. Strong wind blew and the fire grew up to the size of soccer ball. It was really embarrassing for me and my friend run away! There's nothing to do but just follow him. We walked around the village.

As we were so young, we forgot everything about the fire and played strolling around village. I had nice time playing with him. When I was came back to my apartment, my mom was out side shouting me "Hey boy, where were you! there was big fire! Be careful!". After her shouting, I had noticed about the fire. As I looked at the our secret site, I could see huge fire over the plate blocking the site. And the place was crowded with firemen and fire cars. The fire was absolutely made by us.

Fortunately, cause there was no people or someone's property, there was no casualty or a loss, I guess. And my mom still doesn't know the fact that I made the fire.

Blog Post #4 Assignment - New York

Last summer, I'd stayed in NY, BIG APPLE. Actually I'd stayed mainly in NJ, and it is located near in Manhattan so I could have lots of chances to visit New York. And I'd been there for 5 weeks and it was enough time for me to enjoy life of NY with out lack of time.

The central park, my beloved site, is the wonder of the city. I really love this park so I had lots of time there watching people tanning their skin or jogging and taking a nap. But I couldn't see all around the park cause it is so huge.

The shake shack bugger is placed in west side of the park. It is one of the most famous cheese bugger in the states. Loving the bugger, I visit there almost every time when I visit the park. So end of travel, I got sick of it, haha.

I've been to other cities too, Philadelphia, Boston and Niagara falls. But campus of the states was most interesting to me. I went to Princeton, MIT and Harvard. Campuses were so calm and clean so I could guess students of the campuses may easily concentrate on their study.

NY was so attractive for me so I hope to visit there again.

 

P.S May I tell you some secret? I met Usher at Madame Tussaud in NY and he said do not post the picture of him. But cause you are my favorite classmate, I post this picture. haha~

Chuseok!

Chuseok is my favorite holiday cause I can take lots of taste food during Chuseok.

Nowadays I'm living with my grandma in her apartment in Nowon, cause it is much closer than my parents apartment. This holiday was great chance to me to see my parents.

I visited their apartment near Il-san. I was happy to meet them again and we enjoyed ourselves with Song-pyun. Then we went to Paju to visit my uncle's home. We had breakfast and lunch together.

Yesterday, I've came back to my grandma's apartment with my family. My aunt was there and she had came back to Korea from Indonesia. It had been long time since I saw her I was really happy to meet her again.

For everybody, have a nice holiday and merry Chuseok!

The person who I admire.

Leonardo da Vinci was born in Italia. He is just the archetype of Renaissance Man who is skilled in various field and that's why I admire.

He got fame as an artist at first. The Mona Lisa, a painting of a beauty, is the most valuable asset in human history. And the Last Supper depicts a famous scene in the bible. Both artworks made him one of the greatest painter ever.

Art was not the only his interest. As we check his note, we can see how he was interested in enormous range of field and how he was creative. In his note, there are many drawings of his idea and outcomes of his study. He observed natural phenomenons and studied ratio of human body. He had been interested in autopsy, also. And the sketch of his engineering idea look very similar to stuffs of these day, like tanks and air crafts.

These are just small parts of his talent. He was a scientist, mathematician, engineer, inventor, anatomist, painter, sculptor, architect, botanist, musician and writer as a man. I think he is the most creative person ever. As I want to be a creative person, I really admire his ideas and curiosity.
